| Abstract: | Health support programmes require interactive and responsive technologies in order to acquire information from users and interact with them, offering counsel, support, motivation, and fostering behavioural change. This paper introduces a chatbot development engine targeting health programmes in a social environment. The engine has been implemented and deployed for a smoking cessation programme in Switzerland, with hundreds of real users. Details of this implementation and their underlying technologies are presented, as well as ongoing and future challenges. |
