Abstract: Agent-based model simulations (ABMs) are valuable tools for studying individual behavior patterns, such as the adoption of sustainable technologies and consumer decision-making. ABMs can provide critical insights by dynamically representing how individual actions shape and influence complex systems. These models can be particularly useful for exploring strategies to facilitate the energy transitions more effectively. This project aims to enhance the Behavior-driven Demand Model (BedDeM)[12] framework by improving the perception component with a more plausible architecture. By incorporating theories from psychology and neuroscience, the model seeks to better simulate consumer behavior. A more realistic perception framework can lead to better-informed recommendations for influencing sustainable consumer choices, ultimately equipping policymakers with more effective tools for driving behavioral change.
