Abstract: | Human-machine interaction is the driving force to the technological advancement of contemporary research. In a society of individuals with increasingly busy schedules, the asynchronous written messaging is the most adopted in daily interactions. Thanks to the release of dedicated APIs from messaging platforms and social networks, the development of computer programs able to conduct conversations (known as chatbots) is rapidly evolving. This paper proposes a framework (named CSMK) supporting the social challenge of smoking cessation (in the context of a program named JDF) conducted on a social network (Facebook) playground. Such a framework has been equipped with intelligence and social capabilities embodied by the tight coupling of the chatbot technology with the multi-agent approach. A single-agent implementation and a multi-agent design are presented and discussed. Finally, future extensions of the CSMK framework are outlined. |
