Abstract: This paper presents a first accomplished state of our researches fulfilling the purpose of creating an assistance medium to the definition of strategic orientations for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and an assistance medium to the definition of environmental scanning axes based on semantic technology. Our proposition sets out a link between the elaboration of a business model, which requires precise knowledge of the environment, and the setting up of scanning system, which itself requires precise definition of the strategic guidelines of the organization. Our research aims at creating synergies between business model design and environmental scanning.
